Castonguay Électronique clearly distinguishes between development costs and manufacturing costs. Research, engineering, prototyping, etc., are handled as a separate project. We provide the customer with all product documentation: drawings, diagrams, material lists, specifications, programming, etc. The intellectual property therefore belongs to the client. This approach allows our Canadian clients to benefit from tax credit programs for research and development.
Castonguay Électronique complies with the requirements of the RoHS directive. However, tin-lead assembly or repair is available upon request.

There are clear ethical and moral reasons why Castonguay Électronique will never copy a circuit. Integrity is the basis of our commitment and we actively respect the intellectual property of our customers and those of our colleagues and competitors. We will only make certain assemblies if it is clearly defined that the circuit is in the public domain and can be reproduced without infringing on intellectual property rights.
We can assemble a single circuit as a model of a feasibility study. Then, the quantity of circuits assembled depends of course on your needs and your production schedule.
Small quantity production, a prototype for example, can easily be completed in a few days, even hours. A large quantity production (several thousands) can be done with the same attention to detail that gives Castonguay Électronique its reputation as a leader in the field.
The activities of the company Castonguay Électronique are mainly focused on the design and production of electronic circuits. Therefore, we do not offer the retail service. We are the only authorized service center for D-BOX audio products. We are the only authorized service center for D-BOX audio products, and we only service D-BOX speakers and subwoofers. D-BOX Audio ceased production and sales of audio equipment in 2005. However, Castonguay Électronique has acquired the existing spare parts and provides a repair service that meets your expectations.

There is no fixed answer to this question. When evaluating costs, several factors must be considered. For example, when producing a circuit with surface mount technology (SMT), one must count the cost of a stencil for the application of solder paste, the costs of programming the assembly machines, the tooling costs for the circuits themselves, and of course, the parts that will be installed on it. For the production of a circuit in through-hole technology, it is necessary to count, as for the TMS, the cost of the circuits themselves, the parts, and the various operations necessary to produce the circuit. If it is a complete design process, the engineering costs (research and development of the circuit), as well as the prototype costs, must also be considered. Other manipulations (adding external wires, packaging, testing, etc.) are also considered in the production costs. The production cost is of course directly related to the total quantity of circuits assembled. Each situation being unique, do not hesitate to contact us for a detailed evaluation, but always at a competitive price.
Depending on the assembly technology chosen, certain costs are recurrent. In the case of surface mount technology (SMT) assembly, the stencils are made and the assembly machines are programmed only once. Therefore, these costs are only charged to the customer for the initial production. For subsequent productions, only the circuits themselves (PCB) and the parts used will be invoiced. However, if a modification to the stencils, tooling, etc. is necessary, additional charges may be added.
We do not offer marketing or distribution services. However, since we offer a turnkey service, we can supply your distributors and provide them with technical support.
An exception to the rule is MultiDAT, a product developed by the Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada (FERIC); the involvement and role of Castonguay Électronique in this project was special.
Our payment terms are generally Net 30 days after credit approval. For initial orders, we require a deposit of 50% of the production costs before starting the work. The balance is payable upon delivery.
At the counter, repair fees for MultiDAT products or D-BOX Audio brand speakers are payable by cash, cheque or Interac transfer. Packages sent by mail can be paid cash on delivery (C.O.D.).
